Kait Mauro (b. 1991, Pittsburgh) is an experimental, intuition-based artist who explores and excavates the strata of her inner landscape through her unique visual language. While her radically self-sharing writing helps her center herself and articulate what she finds, she turns to her visual work practice to express what she finds there are no words for.

Her process is meditative and layered, beginning with a loose concept that intuition guides as it unfolds. She works with inks made from natural materials like stones and crystals, using playful, intuitive color palettes featuring light minty blues, deep purples, metallic golds, and opalescent details. These elements embody her experience of the dynamic between stillness and movement, inviting viewers into a space of quiet reflection.

Recently, Kait has incorporated asemic writing into her practice, blending language and visual minimalism to release perfectionism and allow her work to evolve naturally. Her art transforms vulnerability and emotional courage into form, holding space for contemplation rather than proposing answers.

Now based in Gulf Shores, Alabama, Kait finds grounding in the ocean landscape surrounding her studio.
